     • Visa applications are accepted on an appointment basis only.
     • Please be punctual. Come on time for your appointment.
     • Please make sure that you have all the necessary documents and
fees when you apply. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
     • Visa applications are decided on a “case to case” basis.
     • Compliance with the requirements does not guarantee the
issuance of a visa.
     • Misrepresentation or fraud at any stage of the process will
automatically disqualify you from obtaining a visa.
     • The Embassy cannot be held responsible or liable in any way for
any inconvenience or losses incurred if you fail to comply with the
visa application procedures.

A. How do I schedule an appointment?
Appointments are given on a “first come, first served” basis. There is no priority
/ waiting list. Schedule your appointments at least 4-6 weeks prior to your
planned departure date in order to allow sufficient time for the processing of
your applications.
Appointments are scheduled, confirmed and cancelled by calling the Visa
Hotline. This service is available Mondays thru Fridays from 8:00 until 9:00
AM only.

B. How much is the visa processing fee?
The visa processing fee is a NON-REFUNDABLE fee collected by the Visa
Officer at the Visa Counter upon filing of the application. This processing fee
applies to all visa applications, regardless of the type of visa (tourist, transit,
visit, business or official, study, others) and number of entries (1, 2 or multiple)
applied for. It is payable in Philippine Peso and on “cash” basis only. The
amount may change depending on the prevailing foreign monetary exchange
rate. Php 2, 200.00, Please prepare the exact amount.

C. Where do I get the visa application form?
The application form is free-of-charge and may be photocopied. It is available
from our receptionist, or you may download the PDF file from the website of

D. What are the visa requirements and how long is the processing?
     • The Visa Officer may ask you to submit additional requirements, if
        deemed necessary.
     • Please bring the original documents and provide the Embassy with
        clear photocopies.

The requirements listed below are applicable to Filipino citizens as well as
foreign nationals who have valid residence status in the Philippines and
require a visa to enter Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

If you are not a citizen of the Philippines, please consult the website of the

If you are in possession of a valid residence card / permit for other countries,
please consult the website of the Swiss Federal Office

Visa issuance and schedule of release:
     1. Individuals: 2-3 working days from the date of approval
     2. Groups (consisting of 5 or more individuals): 3-4 working days from
         the date of approval
     3. Release of visas: from 2:00 until 3:00 PM (Mondays thru Thursdays)
         and from 1:00 until 2:00 PM (Fridays)

General requirements:
     • One visa application form, which is completely and properly filledout and signed by the applicant
     • One clear passport picture (Must be taken within the last six months.)
     • Valid passport (Must be valid at least 3 months after leaving Swiss territory.)
     • Photocopy of valid passport as well as old passports containing
        valid visas (Inside front cover containing holder’s information, photo
        and signature; Inside back cover containing „Important reminders“
        and other passport information.)
     • Photocopy of all valid visas
     • Personal appearance by the applicant
     • Visa processing fee (Please prepare the exact amount.)

For foreign nationals who have valid residence status in the
Philippines, submit also a copy of the Alien Certificate of Registration
(ACR) and Re-Entry permit.

Additional requirements:
     1. Tourist Visa
         If you are in possession of a valid visa applicable for all Schengen States
         and your stay in Switzerland is within the validity period of your Schengen
         visa and does not exceed 90 days, submit the following supporting
         documents:
         • Computer printout of confirmed roundtrip air travel reservation as
            well as a detailed, day-to-day itinerary of planned trip (Do not yet
            buy an airline ticket. The Embassy cannot be held responsible for
            any financial losses in case you have to return a ticket.)
         • International travel insurance (Must have a coverage of at least
            Php1M to cover expenses for personal accident, urgent medical
            treatment, urgent admission in a hospital or urgent repatriation on
            medical grounds; coverage area must include Switzerland and
            Liechtenstein)

            If you are NOT in possession of a valid visa applicable for all Schengen
            States, then submit the following documents:
         • Computer printout of confirmed roundtrip air travel reservation
            (Do not yet buy an airline ticket. The Embassy cannot be held
            responsible for any financial losses in case you have to return a ticket.)
         • International travel insurance (Must have a coverage of at least
            Php1M to cover expenses for personal accident, urgent medical
            treatment, urgent admission in a hospital or urgent repatriation on
            medical grounds; coverage area must include Switzerland and Liechtenstein)
         • Detailed itinerary of planned trip / schedule of activities
         • Proof of accommodation: hotel booking confirmation containing
            the complete name and address of the hotel
         • Valid visa in the passport for the country / -ies of destination after
            Switzerland based on confirmed itinerary of trip
         • Proof of financial resources: latest bank statements, bank books,
            latest international credit card statements
         • If employed: employment certificate with approved leave of
            absence and income statement, recent income tax return
         • If self-employed: official business registration certificate or SEC registration
     2. Transit Visa
         • Valid visa in the passport for the main country / -ies of
            destination based on confirmed itinerary of trip
         • Computer printout of confirmed roundtrip air travel reservation
            as well as a detailed day-to-day itinerary of planned trip (Do
            not yet buy an airline ticket. The Embassy cannot be held
            responsible for any financial losses in case you have to return a ticket.)
         • International travel insurance (Must have a coverage of at least
            Php1M to cover expenses for personal accident, urgent
            medical treatment, urgent admission in a hospital or urgent
            repatriation on medical grounds; coverage area must include
            Switzerland and Liechtenstein)

       Airport transit: You do not need a visa if you stay within the airport premises
       and your stay does not exceed 48 hours.
     3. Visa for Business or Official Travel
         • A fax confirmation sent directly to the Visa Section (Visa Fax #:
           +632 757 3717) from the business partner / official contact in
           Switzerland containing the complete details of the travel
           arranged by the company (purpose, duration, travel and
           accommodation arrangements as well as financial guarantee
           including an international travel insurance to cover expenses
           for personal accident, urgent medical treatment, urgent
           admission in a hospital or urgent repatriation on medical
           grounds; coverage area must include Switzerland and
           Liechtenstein).

           If you are in possession of a valid official or diplomatic passport and your
           stay in Switzerland does not exceed 90 days, then you do not need a visa
           to enter the Swiss territory.
     4. Visitor’s Visa (tourist visa sponsored by relative or friend)
         • Birth certificate (preferably issued by the NSO).
         • If your birth is stamped „delayed / late registration, submit further proof:
         • Baptismal certificate (issued at the time of baptism) with
           the address and telephone number of the church
         • All school records / transcript of records
         • All other documents submitted to the Local Civil Registrar
           when birth was registered late.
           You may also be required to submit the following documents:
         • If you are married: marriage contract
         • If you are a widow / widower: death certificate of deceased spouse
         • If you have any children: birth certificates of children below 18 years old
         • If applicable, proof of financial resources: latest bank statements,
           bank books, latest international credit card statements
         • If employed: employment certificate with approved leave of
           absence and income statement, income tax return from the
           previous year
         • If self-employed: official business registration certificate or SEC registration

An “Additional Questionnaire” will be handed to you when you file your
application. You have to fill-out this form completely and truthfully. Submit
this questionnaire together with the other requirements. If you receive a
positive evaluation based on the interview and verification of your
documents, you will be given the “Declaration of Guarantee” form. All further
steps will be explained by the Visa Officer. Please note that this procedure
takes approximately 45-60 days and inform your sponsor accordingly.
